Springtime Tallahassee begins this weekend!
The 37th annual Springtime Tallahassee festival begins this weekend, and downtown Tallahassee will be very active with food, activities, a parade, music, and many other outdoor events! It's still early yet, but the weekend weather looks to be a perfect representation of a Springtime Tallahassee day!
Here's a quick breakdown of the planned events:
Friday, April 1st
- The traditional day of the April Fool will end with a serious party! The Springtime Tallahassee ‘Downtown Getdown’ street party will be from 6:00pm until 10:30pm Friday night at the Adams Street Commons. For visitors to Tallahassee, the Adams Street Commons is the bricked road on the block North of the capitol building.
Saturday, April 2nd
- The Saturday festivities begin with the Springtime Tallahassee 10K run, a combination of a 10K road race and a 1 mile run fun. Registration begins at 6:30am, with the races starting at 8:00am. The registration and starting line on race day is in front of the County Courthouse on Monroe Street. For race details, see the Gulf Winds Track Club web site.
- The Springtime Tallahassee parade begins at 10:30am Saturday from the intersection of Monroe Street and Thomasville Road, which is the 700 block of North Monroe Street. The parade travels South on Monroe Street past the Florida Capitol and ends at the intersection of Monroe Street and Gaines Street, or the 800 block of South Monroe Street. This map details the parade route.

Mayor John Marks, III, Springtime Tallahassee's 37th Annual Grand Marshal
- The Springtime Tallahassee Jubilee in the Park is a cornucopia of music, arts and crafts, food, and fun for everyone! This year’s Jubilee winds around the downtown Tallahassee area on Adams Street, Duval Street, Park Avenue, and College Avenue. There will be six entertainment stages, a food court with booths of food vendors, and city blocks full of arts and crafts. The fun starts at 9:30am and goes until 5:00pm, so join us for a full day of fun!
- The R. A. Gray Building on 500 South Bronough Street is the host for the Springtime Tallahassee Florida Heritage Book Festival. This Reading Festival begins at 10:00am and ends at 3:00pm Saturday, and will include storytelling, living history groups, and many books for sale featuring Florida History.
Monday, April 11
- The Springtime Tallahassee ‘Swing Into Spring’ golf charitable fundraising tournament is Monday, April 11th, with a shotgun start at 11:00am. More information on this scramble tournament can be found on the Springtime Tallahassee web site.

If you’ve never visited Tallahassee in the Spring, you’re missing the new Dogwood blooms and the perfect mid-seventy temperatures. Who could ask for anything more?
